Reconstruction of Ccapa Quispe Inca Family's Adobe Home and Agricultural Land
Dario and his family live in the pueblo of Pisaq in the Sacred Valley of Peru. While Dario now has his own home, he is devoted to helping his father and mother carry on their traditional life ways. Dario’s parents steward an inherited agricultural land and fruit farm from their Capa Quispe Inca ancestors.
As they are now elders, their capacity to work as long is decreasing so they have been contemplating selling their cows, pigs, guinea pigs and the whole plot of land. While this is an option, the entire family does not want to lose what they’ve inherited as well as their traditions and their main source of nourishment - milk, cheese, eggs, meat, fruit, etc.
Dario is eager to reconstruct their old adobe home so that they have ample space to sell their harvest to the local community from home, with a vision to make fruit jams and medicines from all of the native plants growing in bounty.
Their first step is to source natural materials to restore the home and the motivation of his father and mother to continue fueling the remainder of their legacy here.
100% of funds directly fund Dario and family.
