Handmade Clay Sculpture — El Tucán | Toucan

Traditionally crafted from a natural, local Clay body with color dyes sustainably sourced from Clay, Plants, Stones + Resins from the Yarinacocha region of the Ucayali basin in the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest.

The Toucan is symbolically related to as a conduit between the Living and Spiritual Worlds.

The Kene represents the patterns of Energy within the Shipibo Technology of Healing Songs known as ‘Icaros’. There are three forms of Kene — Mayá Kené, Shao Kené + Beshé Kené. The patterns are woven or painted on their Traditional Craft to symbolize the messages and channels of communications from the Plant Spirits, the River + the Icaros.
